Magnum-plant runs in future on ammonia

The Magnum-plant of Nuon in the Eemshaven (The Netherlands) can run on different fuels, but decided to drop of coals. The intention is that this gas powered plant will run within 10 years on ammonia.

Together with TU Delft, Nuon is researching the possibilities to convert sustainable energy to ammonia. The results will be presented by the end of this year. This research is part of the project “Power to Ammonia”, what for the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology (ISPT) collaborates with Stedin Infradiensten, Nuon, ECN, TU Delft, Universiteit Twente, Proton Ventures, OCI Nitrogen, CE Delft and AkzoNobel.
